English as a Second Language (ESL)

English language classes are offered to support adults who may be immigrants or refugees. The curriculum is designed to fulfill the learner's practical needs by teaching everyday language focused on survival skills and everyday living. In addition, the classes improve proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, math and writing English. Classes are available both online or in person. My name is Pearl. I‘m an ESL teacher at Centennial. In the past 7 years, I taught languages to K-adult learners. I truly enjoy working with the students and staff at Centennial! I have earned my Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Saint Cloud State University. I believe that all students can learn any language and work with people with different backgrounds to make the world a better place.
